Massage

The Ageless Living Center offers a wide variety of massage techniques.

Swedish Massage Therapy is the most commonly offered and best known type of massage. It uses a firm but gentle pressure to improve the circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility effectively resulting in full body relaxation.

Tui-Na: Chinese Massage Therapy is used to increase the flow of blood and lymph circulation and generally relax, and reduce stress and muscular tension. Tui-Na (pronounced "twee-nah") makes use of many different strokes that are applied to acupoints, channels and muscle groups. Most importantly, Tui-Na is a physical expression of the flow of Qi energy from one human being to another. When done with correct intent, the strokes and techniques stimulate an exchange of Qi energy between the practitioner and the patient, and this is the secret healing power of Tui-Na.

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.

Sports Massage is a form of massage which utilizes specific strokes and stretches to help obtain maximum performance and physical conditioning with less chance of injury or pain. It increases power, endurance, and flexibility both before and after an event or workout.

Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being.

Prenatal Massage is the prenatal use of massage therapy to support the physiologic, structural, and emotional well-being of both mother and fetus. Various forms of massage therapy, including Swedish, deep tissue, neuromuscular, movement, and Oriental-based therapies, may be applied throughout pregnancy as well as during labor and the postpartum period.

Chair Massage is offered at your work place or home. The client remains fully clothed and no oils are used while their shoulders, neck, upper back, head, and arms are massaged in a chair designed specifically for this purpose.

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of rigorous massage that uses fingers, elbows, knees and feet to apply acupressure to points along the body's energy pathways (meridians) in order to stimulate physical relaxation and reduce stress

Acupressure is an ancient healing art using the fingers and other parts of the body to skillfully press key points, which stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these trigger points are pressed, they release muscular tension, and promote circulation of blood, and the body's life force energy to aid healing.

Reflexology The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are "reflex" areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. A scientific explanation is that the pressure may send signals that balance the nervous system or release chemicals such as endorphins that reduce pain and stress.

Hot Stone Massage is a variation on classic massage therapy. Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body.
